I absolutely love podcasts, and I listen to them every day.

Working from home means that any excuse to leave the house on a regular basis is a good thing.  And at least once a day, that excuse is listening to a podcast while I walk around outside.

I think the primary reason I love them, is because of my learning style.  I’m confident that if I want to learn something new, I can find a YouTube video about it, or listen to a podcast episode on the topic.  I sometimes wonder if I would have been as successful as a software engineer had these mediums of learning not been around.

I think the same can be said for finding community; perhaps it would have been harder if I didn’t have these amazing folks to feel connected with via audio.

When I first started listening to tech podcasts back in 2012, a lot of them seemed like they weren’t considering women when booking guests, or picking what to talk about, or choosing what to edit out of a podcast.

Thankfully, podcasts have gotten better.  There are some fantastic options not only for women but for underrepresented people in tech in general.  We are being booked as guests, and creating podcasts in the tech space. If you think there is a podcast that I would love, msg me on Instagram or Twitter.
